EROTIC MOTIFS IN THE 1–2 BOOKS OF SAMUEL AND LITERARY CONTEXT: A HISTORY OF THE PROBLEM AND CURRENT DISCUSSIONS

Abstract
The article is dedicated to erotic passages and motifs of the Bible, firstly from the 1 and 2 Books of Samuel which narrate about relations between David and Jonathan. The principal purpose of the article is to consider mentioned relations both in terms of the key source (Tanakh) and with the engaging of other accounts of ancient Near East (e.g., The Epic of Gilgamesh). Furthermore, the author of the article conducts a survey of recent researches in the Queer Bible Studies with a glance to previous historiography.
