Abstract
This article is the first attempt to reconstruct the surface and specifications of the most powerful and strongest weapon – Korean first iron-armored warship of XVI century, rebuilt by talented Admiral Yi Sun-sin – kobukson (turtle ship). The main problem is that with certainty we can only review written sources of the Yi Sun-sin period, moreover – the matter lies in the absence of archaeological finds, as well as of the detailed, accurate and reliable descriptions of kobukson. That is why the article also presents an attempt to organize basic descriptive data and contains Ukrainian translation of some important sources on this problem.
