Abstract

The article is devoted to archaic (pre-Buddhist) cults and traditions of the Nepalese and their role in the ideological side of Nepalese medieval rajadharma. The Tantric cults of stone among peoples of Nepal are being discussed, as well as their role in the sphere of ideas, religion, in formation of notion of ideal social and political order. Special attention is paid to the concept of “dhungo” – “the stone-state”.
