Abstract

The article is devoted to the main features of acquisitions at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. In particular, the statistical information about purchases, subscriptions of journals, gifts receiving, language criterion and purchases of literature is characterized. Several examples of centralized and uncentralized acquisitions in Alexandrina departments are given in the article. The diagrams and the charts are provided with the conclusions in order to help to understand the main features of the collection development at the new Alexandria Library.
