Abstract

In the article author considers issues related to the conference of Asian and African countries in Bandung, and to political struggle before and after the general elections to the Parliament of the Republic of Indonesia. The growing role of the Communist Party of Indonesia in the social-political development of the country, as well as relations with the former colonial metropolis of Indonesia, the Netherlands, are also discussed.
