THE STUDY OF ARABIC CLASSICAL METRICS ON THE MATERIAL OF PRE-ISLAMIC POETRY

Abstract
The article discusses approaches to the research of the ancient Arabic poetry in the light of the classical metric system – arud. The actual basis for the study of pre-Islamic poetry is determined. The main approaches to metric analysis of Arabic poetry are shown. The possibility of reliable metric analysis of pre-Islamic poetry in the light of discussions about its authenticity is grounded.
