Abstract
The article is devoted to the process and peculiarities of incorporation of the Himalayan principality of Mustang into the unified kingdom of Nepal (the end of XVIII – the b. of XIX century). Social and political situation in the kingdom as well as the system of relations between the king of Nepal and the king of Mustang is being analyzed according to the documents. The aspects similar to some other vassal states & Mustang are being compared and studied. The article also investigates the sociopolitical system of the state formations dependent to Mustangi raja (“tributary kingdoms”). Special attention is paid to the sociocultural aspect of development of the kingdom of Mustang during this period.
