Сonception of Chinese Symbolic Poetry on the Examples of Dai Wanshu’s Early Works

Dai Wanshu is the poet of symbolic style in the XXth century’s Chinese literature. His early poems look like synthesis of modern features and traditional images. Some of Dai Wanshu’s first poems are influenced by French symbolist school, that’s why there are a lot of images and symbols, borrowed from European poets. The article also depicts the traditional, well-known symbolic images as well as those created by the author. Works of Dai Wanshu are also full of his own special features. The usage of the most interesting and important symbols and images of Dai Wanshu’s poetry has been analyzed on the examples of his works.
